Mayor’s Statement
Dear Residents,

I have received many phone calls, emails and texts wanting to know what I know about the corona virus and how it is affecting our Village. I am not in direct contact with Governor DeWine but I do receive updates through Portage County EMA Director Ryan Shackleford almost daily.

I must commend Governor DeWine for what he is doing to keep everyone informed and continues to do a wonderful job addressing the problems of this terrible virus and how it is bringing havoc to our communities. I commend you the residents and the businesses for the role that you are taking and abiding by the advisements of President Trump and Governor DeWine.

I want to assure you that we are taking all measures possible to keep our Village safe and healthy. I have met with all department supervisors to take precautions where necessary to properly keep our Village in a stable operation during this latest crisis.

Garrettsville Village Office is open daily Monday – Friday by phone @ 330-527-4424. Items can be dropped off from 8am-3pm in entrance alcove. All other Departments are open as usual their regular hours. Please be patient as all Village employees are attempting to avoid close contact with anyone as much as possible.

In times like this, the rumors are running rampant. Please try to remain calm and if you are not sure of what you are hearing, don’t hesitate to email me at mayor@garrettsville.org and I will address you ASAP.  If I do not have the answer, I will do my best to do the research to get you the correct answer. This is a time that we need to remain calm and not panic. I am not going to sugarcoat what we are going through with this horrible virus. This is very serious and we need to all come together as we have in the past and beat this thing. We need to be as said on March 22, 2014, “Garrettsville Strong”.

Your role to play now and in the future is to remain positive. Let us all work together. We will get through this and we will be stronger than ever.

Mayor Rick Patrick
