The Garrettsville Freedom Nelson Joint Fire District (GFNJFD) is happy to announce they have been awarded with a grant. The grant, which was written in December of 2019, was awarded to the department by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry. The grant is worth $10,000 and will be used to buy MARCs radio equipment for the department in order to improve communications during incidents. The system will allow the department to communicate with a growing number of surrounding departments making the switch to this new system as well as
other law enforcement and EMS departments.
