Garrettsville Police Department Hiring

The Garrettsville Village Police Department is seeking individuals to fill the positions of Full Time Patrol Officer, Part Time Patrol Officer, and a Full Time School Resource OfficerGarrettsville Village comprises of approximately 2300 residents and numerous businesses. It is located in Northeast Portage County.  Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability and desire to work as a team towards the objectives of the department.

 

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

• Minimum 21 yrs. of age at time of appointment
• Hold a current State of Ohio OPOTA certification as a Peace Officer
• Possess a valid Ohio Driver License with satisfactory driving record
• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of current law enforcement principals, procedures, and techniques
• Ability to perform work requiring good physical condition, communicate effectively orally and in writing, establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, peers and supervisors, exercise sound judgmentduring stressful situations
• Ability to pass a thorough background investigation(including polygraph and psychological), physical (Full Time), and drug screen

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

• Full Time Patrol Officers participate in the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund (OP&F), Part Time Patrol Officers are enrolled in OPERS
• Candidates must complete a Field Training Program (for any position)  and Probationary period (Full Time)
• Annual uniform allowance
